Hundreds Chart Example
The chart with the fives shaded: skip counting, multiples and number patterns stand out at a glance.

What's in the Hundreds Chart
Numbers 1 to 100
Ten rows of ten, so each row adds ten and each column adds one.
A Blank Chart
Page 2 is empty so students can write the numbers or fill in the ones you left out.
Room to Shade
Color the multiples of a number so skip counting patterns show up.
Editable Versions
Edit the Word or Google Docs file before you print, or type straight into the PDF.
How to Use the Hundreds Chart
Read a Row
Point to the first row and count to ten together, then read the next row to hear each row add ten.
Look Down a Column
Ask what happens as you move down a column. Students notice each number is ten more than the one above.
Shade Skip Counts
Have students color every fifth or tenth number, then describe the pattern the colored squares make.
Fill In Missing Numbers
Write a few numbers on the blank chart yourself, then have students fill in all of the others.
Keep It for Reference
Slide a copy into a folder so students can check a number while they add or subtract.
