Built by a teacher, for teachers everywhere.

EMStudio is an online planner for lesson plans, gradebook, attendance, and curriculum. Built by a working teacher who got tired of clunky planners and enterprise systems that everyday classroom teachers, tutors, and homeschoolers can't even access. It's the planner I wished existed for the last seven years.

The story

Three years ago I was an ESL teacher in Seoul, drowning in lesson plans, attendance sheets, and disorganized files. So I built myself a teacher dashboard in Notion. Nothing fancy, just a way to keep my classes from sliding into chaos. I shared it on Reddit on a whim, and it took off.

That side project became Notion4Teachers, and over the last three years it's been used by more than 50,000 educators around the world. Along the way I learned what teachers actually need from a planning tool, not what edtech companies think they need.

But Notion has limits. And the dedicated planners out there were either built fifteen years ago and look it, or they're enterprise LMS systems sold directly to school districts. That leaves everyday classroom teachers, tutors, distance learning instructors, and homeschoolers without a real option. EMStudio is the planner I always wished existed: modern, intuitive, beautiful, and built for the way teachers actually work.

What we believe

Three thingswe won't compromise on.

01

The planner shouldn't be
extra homework.

Teaching is already hard. Planning and grading piled on top is harder. A planner you have to study to use isn't helping. It's just another job. Every screen in EMStudio is built so you can pick it up and know what to do.

02

Good design
is good teaching.

When you teach something well, students understand without struggle. Good design works the same way. We obsess over the small stuff (spacing, wording, the order things appear) so it feels obvious from the first click.

03

Built with teachers,
not at them.

Half of what's in EMStudio exists because a teacher asked for it. Every classroom is different: different scales, schedules, students. There's no way to know what everyone needs without listening. So we listen, and we keep shipping.

From the creators of Notion4Teachers

Trusted by 50,000+ teachers. Now building the planner they kept asking for.

For three years our Notion4Teachers templates have helped more than 50,000 educators run smoother classrooms. EMStudio is what those teachers kept asking for: one purpose-built app where lesson plans, grades, attendance, and curriculum planning all live together. In its first five months, over 1,000 teachers across 60+ countries have signed up, and the app is already available in 20 languages.

Milo

Founder · Teacher

Aerospace engineer by training, classroom teacher by trade. I've spent the last seven years teaching ESL in South Korea, and four of those running curriculum and content as a coordinator for twelve English academies. That meant planning hundreds of lessons a year across dozens of teachers, tracking what worked and what didn't, and constantly running into the limits of whatever planning tool I was using. EMStudio is the answer to all those years of “this should be easier.” Every new feature still gets tested against the same question: would I actually use this on a Sunday night?
