The lesson planner teachers asked us to build

Our Notion for Teachers templates have helped 50,000+ educators stay organized for years. EMStudio's online lesson planner is what those teachers kept asking us for — one place to build detailed lessons, schedule them across your classes, and reuse them year after year.

What makes a good lesson planner

A good online lesson planner should feel like an upgrade the moment you open it. Building a lesson should take minutes, not a tutorial. Finding last Tuesday's plan should take one click. And the work you do this year should be the foundation for next year, not something you start from scratch every September.

The easy way to plan lessons

Planning a lesson should be the work, not figuring out the planner. EMStudio's interface is built to fade into the background — clean layouts, predictable controls, and an editor that opens instantly. Most teachers have their first lesson built within minutes of signing up, and find the rest of the app just as quick.

Lesson editor with everything built in

EMStudio's editor handles everything a lesson actually needs: formatted text, images, video, attached files, and math equations, all in the same document. Your lesson plan and your teaching materials become one thing instead of five things in five places.

Photosynthesis overview

Photosynthesis is the process by which plants convert light into the chemical energy stored in glucose.

  1. Light absorption by chlorophyll
  2. Electron transport chain
  3. Calvin cycle (light-independent)

Without photosynthesis, life on Earth as we know it would not exist.

Track lessons across every class

When you teach more than one class, the hardest part of planning isn’t writing the lessons. It’s remembering where every class is in the term. EMStudio’s classroom management organizes lessons by class so each one stays on its own track without you having to keep them straight in your head.

Reuse lessons across classes and terms

A lesson you spent two hours building shouldn’t only get used once. EMStudio keeps every lesson in your library and lets you apply it to other classes, copy it into next semester, or pull it out of last year’s plans when the same unit comes around again.

  • Sodium bicarbonate solution
  • 250 ml beaker, light source, ruler

Safety

Wear goggles when handling chemicals. Keep electrical cords away from water.

Procedure

  1. Set up the lamp 15 cm from the beaker.
  2. Record bubble count per minute for 5 minutes.
  3. Repeat at 30 cm and 45 cm distances.

Give your school what it needs

Teaching isn’t just teaching. It’s also standards reporting, observation files, sub plans, and the printout your principal wants by Friday. EMStudio handles those obligations from the same lessons you’re already building, so the admin side of your job stops being separate work.

AI assistant built into the editor

The AI lesson plan generator lives inside the editor itself, turning lesson planning into a back-and-forth instead of a solo task. Ask for an idea, draft, or rewrite at any point, and the output drops straight into the lesson you’re working on.
