Add a short note to any status entry to capture the reason or context. A late arrival with an excuse, a student who left mid-class, anything worth remembering later. Entries with notes show a small dot in the grid, so you can see at a glance which days have context attached.

Some statuses should affect the attendance rate, others shouldn't. A school-sponsored field trip isn't the same as a missed class. Mark each status as either counting or not counting, and EMStudio calculates the rate accordingly.
