Eight pairs, such as I'm not good at this beside I'm not good at this yet.
8 One-Line Posters
One short line in large type per page, such as Effort is how I grow.
Hangs on Its Own

How to Use the Growth Mindset Posters
Start With the Chart
Print the Change Your Words page and read the pairs with your class, left side first, then the right.
Hang It Where Students Can See It
Pin the chart on a bulletin board or wall, so students can look at it when they feel stuck.
Add One Poster at a Time
Put up a new poster each week and talk about what the line means for your class.
Point to the Words in the Moment
When a student says they can't do it, point to the chart and ask which phrase they could try.
Collect New Pairs
Write new pairs that students suggest on sticky notes and add them around the chart on the wall.
