How to Use the SIOP Lesson Plan Template
Write the Content Objective
State what students will learn in the subject, in words they can understand, in the left box.
Write the Language Objective
State the language students will use, such as reading, writing, speaking or listening, in the right box.
Plan the First Four Components
Work down Lesson Preparation, Building Background, Comprehensible Input and Strategies with a note for each.
Plan the Last Four Components
Add Interaction, Practice and Application, Lesson Delivery, and Review and Assessment to finish the table.
Post Both Objectives
Copy the two objectives onto the board or a slide so students can see them during the lesson.
