What's in the Multiplication Chart
12 by 12 Grid
Every product from 1 x 1 to 12 x 12, with the factors along the top and the side.
A Blank Chart
Page 2 has the same grid empty, so students can build the products themselves.
Patterns to Spot
Shade a row and its column to show a fact family. Square numbers run down the diagonal.
Editable Versions
Edit the Word or Google Docs file before you print, or type straight into the PDF.
How to Use the Multiplication Chart
Show How to Read It
Pick 6 and 8. Run one finger across from the 6 and another down from the 8, then read where they meet.
Shade a Fact Family
Have students shade one row and its column, such as the sevens, and notice that the same facts repeat.
Find the Square Numbers
Ask students to circle the products along the diagonal, then name what those numbers have in common.
Fill In the Blank Chart
Start with the rows students know, like the ones, twos and fives, then use them to work out the rest.
Cover and Quiz
Cover a few products with sticky notes and have students say them from memory, then lift the note to check.
