Link standards to lessons

Link standards to your lessons to track which learning goals you've covered and which still need attention. As you teach more lessons, your coverage dashboard updates automatically.

How it works

Linking a standard to a lesson marks it as covered — meaning you've taught that standard in that lesson. This is how coverage tracking works: as you link standards to more lessons, your coverage percentage goes up.

Only standard sets that have been linked to the lesson's class will appear. If you don't see any standards, make sure you've added a standard set to the class first. See Add standard sets →

  1. Open a lesson in the full-page editor.
  2. Click the Standards tab in the right panel.
  3. You'll see the standard sets linked to this lesson's class.
  4. Click any individual standard to mark it as covered.

You can link multiple standards to a single lesson. Each linked standard gets a checkmark.

You can also link standards from the Standards page itself. Click on an individual standard to see which lessons it's linked to, or link it to a lesson from there.

Track your coverage

On the Standards page, each standard set shows:

  • Coverage percentage — how many standards in the set have been linked to at least one lesson.
  • Covered — green checkmark next to individual standards you've taught.
  • Uncovered — empty circle for standards not yet linked to any lesson.

Review your coverage regularly. If you're halfway through the semester and key standards are still uncovered, plan targeted lessons and organize them into units to fill the gaps. You can track both built-in and custom standards the same way.
