The lesson editor
In this article
The lesson editor is a full-page writing environment with rich text, media, and AI assistance. Build detailed lesson plans that you can reference during class and share across sections.
Open the editor
Click on any lesson to open its preview. To edit it, click Open Editor in the top right. This opens the full-page lesson editor.
The rich text editor
The left side of the editor is your writing space. You can format and structure your lesson plan with:
- Headings
- Bullet points & numbered lists
- Inline images
- File attachments (PDFs, documents, etc.)
- Inline math
- And more
The right panel
The right side of the editor has three tabs that open a panel:
- Details — set the lesson's unit, assign it to a class, and schedule it to a class slot by selecting a time from a calendar view.
- Standards — link educational standards to this lesson. Only standard sets that have been linked to the lesson's class will appear here. Learn more about standards → Then link individual standards to track your coverage.
- AI assistant — chat with the built-in AI to generate content and insert it directly into the editor. Learn more about the AI assistant →
The right panel is collapsible. Close it when you need more writing space, open it when you need to adjust details or link standards.
