Shift rotation
If you use a daily rotation, turn on Shift Rotation in the Blocked Days settings. When enabled, the rotation cycle skips blocked days — if Day 3 lands on a holiday, it moves to the next school day and the rest of the cycle shifts forward.
This only applies to daily rotations. Weekly rotations aren't affected — if Monday is a holiday, you just miss that day.
Select a country
Choose your country from the dropdown on the left panel. EMStudio includes public holidays for 31 countries. The relevant holidays are added to the list automatically — each one has a checkbox so you can include or exclude individual dates.
Add custom blocked days
For dates that aren't public holidays — professional development days, school events, exam weeks — you can add your own. There are two ways:
Option 1 — Select a date:
- Click
Select Datesat the top of the Blocked Days panel. - Pick a date or date range.
- Type a name for the blocked day.
Option 2 — From the calendar view:
- Click
Calendarat the top of the Blocked Days panel. - Click on a day or drag across a date range.
- Name the blocked day.
Custom blocked days appear at the top of the list under Custom Days, separate from public holidays.
You can view your blocked days in either List or Calendar view using the toggle at the top.
