Set up your gradebook
The gradebook gives you a complete view of every student's performance in a class. Pick a class, see the grid, and start entering scores — EMStudio calculates totals and letter grades automatically.
Grade topics & weights
Grade topics let you organize assignments and decide how much each one counts. Weight tests, projects, and homework differently — or track qualitative marks like Pass/Fail that don't affect the final grade at all.
Add assignments & scores
Create assignments from either the Grades or Classwork page using the same viewer, then enter scores in a spreadsheet-style grid. Assignments are color-coded by topic, and student averages update in real time.
The grading scale
Each grade topic carries its own grading scale — the list of labels and percentage ranges used to convert scores into letter grades. Pick from five built-in presets or define your own custom tiers.
View grade trends
Spot which students are improving, struggling, or falling behind with visual grade trends. View patterns at the class level or drill into an individual student's performance over time.
